Crying is an emotional reaction, often with strong undercurrents of attachment or loss of attachment. Humans use crying as a process to overcome emotion and to let go. I use the process of crying as inspiration in my artwork. Since crying and painting are my two intuitive emotional outlets, I've integrated crying into the process of art making: I create ink brushes that encapsulate different types of crying. Each brush tool stems from a different circumstance that overwhelmed me and pushed out the tears. I then paint with the brush I created, allowing my emotions to leave me and flow onto paper.
